AutoTech: Detroit 2022 Recap: Demos, Panels, and More!

Jun 21, 2022

That’s a wrap on AutoTech Detroit 2022! We’re always honored to participate in one of automotive’s leading industry events. While the pandemic brought challenges to in-person events the past two years, AutoTech: Detroit came back in full swing with a great turnout and pulsing energy. We believe in the power of events like AutoTech Detroit. It’s crucial to bring people together and grow larger communities that are focused on propelling a drastically changing industry forward.

The week kicked off with Sonatus winning Informa Tech Automotive’s “Software Supplier of the Year” award the night before the conference — which set the stage for the rest of the team’s time in Detroit. Throughout the two-day conference,  we  conducted live demos, engaged in stimulating conversations surrounding software-defined vehicles, and sponsored networking events.

Ahead of the conference, Sonatus was short-listeded for the Informa Tech Automotive “Software Supplier of the Year” award. This award recognizes a  software supplier globally who has had a stellar year in 2021, relating to their development, adoption, and integration of automotive technology into vehicles. We are honored to have garnered this win and recognition in this category, especially amongst such an impressive group of finalist companies that included BlackBerry QNX, Sibros, and Real-Time Innovations. The evening also recognized other companies and individuals across other award categories for their contributions to the advancement of automotive technology. It was a thrilling way to start off the conference and we congratulate all of the winners and finalists for the 2022 program!

The team was hard at work throughout the event, focused on live solution demonstrations that gave visitors an opportunity to experience the innovative capabilities of two components of our award-winning Digital Dynamics™ software-defined vehicle platform.

Highlighting the streamlined cloud management and dynamic configurability of our platform, users were able to see how Dynamic Data Collection enables OEMs to configure collection policies and gather required data in under a minute.

Additionally, we also offered a first-look at the User Interface for our Vehicle Automation Manager (VAM). VAM enables OEMs to apply logic and orchestrate the actions of existing features and functionality to define new features and personalizations with Codeless Recipes.

On the second day of the conference, our CTO and Co-Founder, Yu Fang, shared insights from his wealth of experiences pioneering software-defined technologies on the “Removing the Pain of Software Integration” panel alongside executives from Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and others. The panel was an engaging discussion on the challenge of managing the implementation of software across global lineups, and is a must-watch for those interested in the future of software-defined cars (it will be available to stream in the near future).

In addition to being a Silver sponsor of  the conference, the team also sponsored a jovial networking event in conjunction with The Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA) — COVESA strives to create a more diverse, sustainable and integrated mobility system. It was a joy to sponsor this year’s event and connect with like minded peers working at the intersection of automotive and technology.

Our team had a wonderful experience at this year’s event, and we are looking forward to upcoming events in the future where we can discuss our mission to advance the software-defined future.
